Latest Crochet Creations

I have had to take a bit of a break from crocheting this past week or so due to some shoulder/arm/hand issues. Thankfully they are clearing up and I hope to be crocheting again soon. In the meantime, here are some projects that I completed in early January.

Granny Square Christmas Stocking

When my children were little, my step-mother gave us several granny square Christmas stockings, which we used every year. They were large, would expand to hold many items, and best of all, were washable! Last October when I was in Alabama I dug them out of the storage unit and shipped them back to myself.

They needed a good cleaning, but unfortunately, this washing proved to be one too many and several of the stockings began to come apart. So, while repairing them, I was able to figure out just exactly how they were made and I made a duplicate new one.

I am so pleased with the results and I know I will be making many more in the future.

Granny Square Lapghan

Granny Square Lapghan

A Housewarming gift for a friend back home in New York, large enough to cover a lap or two while watching TV.

Granny Square Lapghan folded in quarter

Here it is folded into quarters. It was crocheted with Deborah Norville’s Everyday yarn and is super soft. I may just have to make one of these for myself this year!

  1. Missus Wookie

Cool looking stockign and I like the idea of a lap blanket. Snuggly. Saw Trilby wrapped up in your afghan like a cocoon last night and smiled – he looked so cozy (and definitely not cute, bearded young men can’t look cute 😉 )

    • Karen

No, I guess bearded young men can’t look cute, but I can’t say it is ever anything I had thought much about! LOL

  2. Carol

I’m not much of a granny square fan, but those stockings are really cute!
