Just a Moment – 7

A Friday ritual inspired by other blogs. A single photo from this past week…. few no words…. just a moment captured in time. If you feel inspired to share…. leave a link in the comments with your moment.} My thanks to Life with Nin for inspiring {just a moment}.

Wednesday I drove from Sierra Vista to Green Valley to visit my Aunt Violet. Along the entire route I saw many black moving objects crossing the road. At first I thought they might be tarantulas, but they are usually a spring sighting and only occasional. When I saw one of the objects fly up in front of me, though, I knew I had to stop for a closer look …

Thanks to my cousin Roberta over at Growing With Science, I now know that it is a Horse Lubber Grasshopper, or Taeniopoda eques.

Amazing colors and size!
