- The week was not as productive as I had hoped, being troubled with sleepless nights and sinus/neck issues. A visit to the chiropractor on Wednesday seemed to be most helpful, though. I did get Quicken current, at least our personal account. The Estate file and the Business file will be tackled (& completed) on Monday. Unfortunately, very little else was accomplished.
- Today Bill and I are driving to Tucson so he can take a certification test. We usually go to Phoenix, as they had a testing center open on the weekends, but it seems as if that testing center has lost their contract with Microsoft. Instead, he found one in Tucson that is open on Saturday. Nice for us as it is much closer, will make for a less stressful day, but not so nice because I won’t get to combine the trip with a visit with my cousin who lives in Chandler. We will have to schedule a special day in March for the two of us to meet somewhere.
- This week has been Speed Week at Daytona, leading up to the Daytona 500 race Sunday. The events held so far have been quite fun to watch and I anticipate a very good race tomorrow. You know where I will be – on the couch, crochet hook in hand, watching the race on TV.
What will you be doing this weekend?
We went for a quick walk this morning and I do mean quick. It was a lot colder outside than we had anticipated and we quickly wimped out and headed home. But I had time to notice a cactus that I had not paid much attention to before. I’m sure someone can tell me what variety of cactus it might be!
We also still have some snow on the Huachuca Mountains.
Later today we will watch the Super Bowl, but we won’t be rooting for any particular team. I’m excited simply because Super Bowl Sunday means just three more weeks until the Daytona 500 and the beginning of the 2012 NASCAR racing season!
I began crocheting a baby blanket for my newest granddaughter, Liana Rose, who is expected to make her appearance around April 8, 2012.
It is coming along nicely, and while I really like the pattern, I do wish the colors that it called for were a bit brighter. I ordered the yarn the pattern called for, but the actual yarn does not seem to match the colors in the book. I doubt Liana Rose will mind, though.
I have been on a cleaning spree this week. My desktop is again clean, although not totally bare of items. I can definitely see bare, flat space again, though. Major progress. Actually, the filing system I set up last fall has worked pretty well and I have been mostly pleased with my progress in maintaining a clean desk. Lapses here and there, yes, but overall, a vast improvement upon the past. And I definitely notice a difference in the amount of productive work I manage to accomplish when my desk is clean.
The area that is cleaner is my website. I am partway through revamping, checking links, cleaning up old code and just generally making the site visually more pleasing to me. I am not sure if anyone will really notice the different, but I am noticing.
And what is cleanest, you ask? My carpets! The cleanest since we moved in. Ah, I think I should add “clean, soft carpets” to my lists of things I never tire of. I had forgotten how soft the carpets felt when we first moved in. Note to self: clean carpets every couple of months. Translated into action: carpets might get cleaned again before we move out!
Have you noticed my “countdown to Daytona” clock on the right sidebar? Twenty-seven days! Even better is the fact that there has been new season Sprint Cup coverage on SPEED channel this week. I was going through serious withdrawal!
