So you want to know more about me? I live in Tallahassee, Florida, with my husband & two youngest children. I am a transplanted Yankee (originally from the Finger Lakes area of NYS) who spent twelve years in north Alabama before moving to Tallahassee in 2007. Hopefully here we have found the warmer winters we have been seeking!
My family has enjoyed the freedom of home education since 1996. We began with quite a structured learning format, but quickly discovered that unschooling fit our learning styles better. We’ve transitioned from elementary level to high school, graduated two children, and currently one is in college. This will be our last official year of homeschooling, but already we have our next generation unschooler!
Kat, our eldest child, is married and already unschooling her daughter. Our granddaughter, Miss Munchkin, is gorgeous & extremely intelligent (of course!). At two years, life is full of exciting curiosities to be explored. You can read about those explorations at Adventures with Miss Munchkin. Kat and her family currently lives in south Georgia, just a couple of hours drive from us.
David, our middle child, attends Tallahassee Community College. He is majoring in computer programming, although he is thinking of changing his major, if only he could figure out to what!
Charles, our youngest child, is in his final year of homeschooling. He is a martial arts enthusiast, currently training at the Kenpo Karate and Kickboxing Center here in Tallahassee.
I moderate a weekly IRC homeschool chat and maintain LeapingFromTheBox.com, a homeschool / unschool website. In addition, I operate an E-bay store, love to crochet, read and write. So many books, so little time!
