Two weeks ago I posted a pictures of one of my treasures, a Christmas Tin which held brown sugar fudge at one time. In the comments, Missus Wookie seemed to think that I should share the recipe. So here you go!
Brown Sugar Fudge
• 2 cups brown sugar
• 1 cup sugar
• 1 cup light cream
• ½ cup butter
• 1 tsp. vanilla (or black walnut flavoring)
• 1 cup chopped nuts (preferable walnuts)
Combine sugars, cream, butter. Cook to soft ball candy stage, stirring occasionally; add vanilla. Cool to lukewarm. Beat until mixture loses its gloss. Stir in nuts.
Pour into buttered 10 x 6 x 1 ½ pan. Cool and cut into squares.
