Nephew’s Graduation Afghan

I finally finished The Grand Project! I first began planning this back around New Year’s, so it has certainly taken long enough.

Here it is, washed and laying outside to dry. I figured I better get this done while we are having a bit drier weather; since the monsoons began back on June 26th, we’ve had rain almost every day. But today and tomorrow are supposed to be sunny, hot and dry. Hopefully this will dry today and then I can package it up and ship it out this week!

Here’s a close up of one corner, showing the color schemes of the two granny squares that make up the afghan.

And here’s the border. I chose Pattern #46 from Around the Corner Crochet Borders: 150 Colorful, Creative Edging Designs with Charts and Instructions for Turning the Corner Perfectly Every Time by Edie Eckman.

I really love how this turned out. But I also really liked how the Blended Granny Square Afghan I made for my niece turned out too!

I still think I may have to make one of these for myself! Or maybe a pink / purple one for Miss Munchkin!

  1. Absolutely beautiful! I love the colors.

  2. This came out really well. I love the colors. And if it was the last two rows of the border that stopped you for a while, I understand. Those are *long* rows!
