Santa Claus 2010 – 365-002

Santa Claus

2010 Santa Claus

As I wrote in my Thursday’s Treasures – Santa Clauses posts, I collect Santa Clauses. The past two years I have not had to shop for any myself because Bill has so nicely given me additions to my collection. Above is this year’s newest addition. It’s actually a tree-topper, but stands quite nicely on its own.

A previous year’s gift from the kids was this Scottish Santa:

I had hoped to be able to bring some of my stored Santas back with me from our trip to Alabama, but there wasn’t time to get to the storage unit, nor would I have had room in my suitcase.

Last year I kept out the candy dish Santa when I packed away the Christmas decorations and I was very glad I did. I was contemplating keeping out another Santa this year, in addition to the candy dish, but I’m not sure where I would put them so that they could be seen daily. I would still like to turn out spare bedroom into a craft project room, so maybe I could display them on one of the bookcases that are set up in there. It just seems a shame to have such lovely treasures and only see them two or three weeks each year.

  • cool idea – hmm have you thought of making a mini album or decor piece showing them all off? Doesn’t have to be scrapbooking per se could just be a photobook…

    • In order to do a photobook, I’d need pictures of all those in storage, which I don’t have. 🙁 Right now I’ve got a few Christmas items up high on a ledge in the kitchen (things I picked up at after-Christmas sales). And the two Santas in this post are in my craft room, although I could move them to sit next to the items in the kitchen. Thanks for your comments!

Can you tell me where the 2010 topper came from? I have been looking to replace my current one which is over 30 years old!
